Tay and Jeff's Wedding

My bestest friends from childhood to now :)

Dianna (in the middle) is the one who encouraged me to start making cakes!

My groom :)

This past weekend, Dave and I traveled to Ocean Isle Beach for Tay and Jeff's wedding. It was such a fun weekend away and it is the first time in a while that I have really relaxed! I made the cake and had it all finished Thursday night so we could leave right after work on Friday. We spent the day Saturday and Sunday soakin' up the rays and hangin' out with friends on the beach.
The cake was two tiers and covered with buttercream and fondant. The biggest tier was White Almond (which has become a pretty popular flavor!) and the top was Triple Chocolate (my fave). This was the first time I made gumpaste flowers and I love hard hard they dry. It was perfect because transporting a cake three hours to the beach can be a little stressful! They flowers were super duper sturdy and everything got there in one piece. Congratulations Taylor an Jeff!!

Eli's 3rd Birthday Cake

Ok, so I have to admit kid's cakes are my absolute favorite to make! I made this cake for little Eli who turned 3. I work with his mom at Franklin Academy and was honored that she asked me to make his cake. He LOVES trains and anything with wheels. How cute :)

Kristin and Marc's Wedding Cake

This wedding cake was all chocolate and covered in buttercream and fondant. I love how Kristin repeated the circles all throughout her reception site. Beautiful!

Stylish Graduation Cake

I made this cake for my friend Kathryn who recently graduated....congratulations! It was inspired by this pretty table setting from Hostess With the Mostess http://www.hwtm.com/ . I love the mixing of so many patterns (something I am always afraid to do!)
