Buttercream Monogram Wedding Cake

Tea Party Cookies

I made these pretty cookies for the mother's day tea at church. I wasn't able to attend but they were a door prize for some of the guests so I was asked to package them up pretty!

X-Ray Graduation cake

I made this cake a few weeks back for someone graduating from xray school! I learned a lot about all the many bones in our hands ;) This was triple chocolate and covered with buttercream and fondant.

Tea Party Cake

I love how this tea party cake turned out! I was given free reign to design a cake for a 4th birthday tea party (from an amazing customer ;) )and came up with this design. I made the tea pot out of rice krispy treats and fondant and everything else was buttercream with fondant details. I must say this is one of my favorite girly cakes so far.

Customized Polymer Clay Cake Topper

I made these cute little Wufs for a groom's cake. The groom's mom ordered them for her son who graduated from NC State and sent me pictures of the bride's dress. These are non edible and are great presents since they can be kept after the cake is already eaten :)

Monogram Wedding Cake

A few weeks ago I made this wedding cake for a sweet bride and her husband. The pictures I took turned out kind of dark since the lighting was not great...I think this girl needs a new camera ;) The cake was much prettier in person! I love how it turned out and the wedding was at the beautiful Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. It was a gorgeous venue! Every other tier was triple chocolate and white almond with raspberry filling.

Easter Egg Cookies

Some sweet ladies from my church asked me to make these cookies for the ladies in their bible study. Here they are all packaged up as a sweet surprise. I hope they liked them!

Beach Wedding cake and cupcakes

I recently made this cookies and small cake for a beach wedding. I love how the adirondack chairs turned out. To make them, I found a pattern (google) to make real ardirondack chairs and scaled it down to be "cake size". It was a little confusing figuring out how to put the chairs together, but I eventually figured them out. It was fun using gumpaste to make a wood working project ;) The cake was a small 6" round cake and the bride and groom cut into that and had the cookies for their guests. I couldn't find a starfish cookies cutter so I made it. You can check out how I make my cookie cutters here !

iPhone 5 Cake

This cake was pretty exciting for me to make since my hubby and I JUST entered into the 21st century and got our first smart phones (iphones)!! I tried to get the dimensions exact on this cake so I measured mine and multiplied it by 4.

Minion Cake

I'm lovin' these little minions lately. After I made this cake, we ended up having a family movie night and I watched Despicable Me2 for the first time....it was too cute!
This cake is a 3-D cake that I made with several 8"round cakes. It is covered and decorated with fondant.

Toy Story Cake

I have a lot of fun cakes to post about! The last few months have been pretty busy with lots of fun birthday cakes. Kid's cakes are my favorite. I love how this Toy Story first birthday cake turned out....

I made the cake topper out of gumpaste and the cakes were buttercream with fondant details.

Clay Wedding Cake Topper

I'm so excited to post about this cake topper! I think it is one of my favorites so far, although I do think that Wolf is making a mistake marrying that Ram ;) It is the first one I did that included the "officiant".

Here he is..conducting the ceremony.

The ring is one of my favorite details! The person ordering the topper asked for the bride to have a diamond ring. I didn't know how to make a diamond out of clay, but found this little jewel in my craft stash. I also have a thing for pearls, since I'm a Meredith girl and all ;)

I had to ship this one, which always makes me a little nervous! I used a TON of bubble wrap and tissue paper when packing it up.

I hope they have a happy married life together, despite the big rivalry ;)

Beehive Cake

This is a beehive cake I made a few weeks ago and wish I could have actually seen the inside when it was cut. The layers were chocolate and vanilla so the inside also had a "bee" theme. It was covered with butter cream and the little bees were made out of fondant.

Frozen Cake and matching cupcakes

This is quite possibly one of my most favorite cakes I have made recently! I love how it turned out, and even though I haven't seen the movie, it sure was fun to make Olaf. I made all of the snowflakes out of royal icing by piping them onto parchment paper and letting them dry over night. My favorite part of the cake is the snow sprinkles and pearls. It was quite an appropriate cake to make this week since we have had frigid temperatures and a pretty big snow storm for NC :)
