Tay and Jeff's Wedding

My bestest friends from childhood to now :)

Dianna (in the middle) is the one who encouraged me to start making cakes!

My groom :)

This past weekend, Dave and I traveled to Ocean Isle Beach for Tay and Jeff's wedding. It was such a fun weekend away and it is the first time in a while that I have really relaxed! I made the cake and had it all finished Thursday night so we could leave right after work on Friday. We spent the day Saturday and Sunday soakin' up the rays and hangin' out with friends on the beach.
The cake was two tiers and covered with buttercream and fondant. The biggest tier was White Almond (which has become a pretty popular flavor!) and the top was Triple Chocolate (my fave). This was the first time I made gumpaste flowers and I love hard hard they dry. It was perfect because transporting a cake three hours to the beach can be a little stressful! They flowers were super duper sturdy and everything got there in one piece. Congratulations Taylor an Jeff!!

  5. How did you get the navy blue color fondant? I always have trouble with dying fondant navy.
