Baby Bum Cake and matching cookies
I'm almost all caught up on the blog. I made these matching cake and cookies for a recent baby shower. The cake was two flavors - the "bum" was triple chocolate and the bottom cake was vanilla. I made the feet out of rice krispy treats and I covered them in buttercream and fondant.
On another note, we have had an awesome, relaxing week at the beach with some really good friends. It has been a nice week to hang out and take a little time off from cake designing :)

Curious George Cake
This cake was made for a baby shower...I LOVE Curious George. "George" is one of Landon's favorite books right now so when I was making this little guy he was super excited. The cake was vanilla with strawberry filling and covered in fondant.

Giraffe Baby Shower Cake
Oh boy, I am so excited to blog about this cake! It is one of my all time fave so far. I love yellow and gray so when I got this order I was super excited. This cake was made for our good friends, Blake and Amanda, who are having a baby girl this summer. I also made their wedding cake a few years back so this was an extra special cake.
Isn't that giraffe family the cutest ever?! Amanda's mom asked me to make a giraffe family on the top to represent Blake, Amanda and baby Harper. I based the design off of the invitation that Amanda's sister made. The flavor - white almond with buttercream and fondant. We can't wait to meet Harper!

WHALEcome Baby
It's about time I get back into the blogging world. I have been up to my eyeballs in orders and have decided to put the blogging on backorder for a while. I am so sad because I lost a lot of pictures because my memory card broke so I won't be able to blog about all the recent orders. Here is a cake I did for a friend about a month ago and she has since had her little baby boy. My friend threw her this awesome shower and asked me to make a onesie cake with a whale on it. Here is the "tablescape" she did all by herself. Way to go!
The cake was white almond with buttercream icing and fondant details.

Baby Shower Cake and Cupcakes
One of the cake orders I had this weekend was for my sweet friend Tracy who helped to throw a baby shower for her best friend. Tracy and I used to work together and I miss all of our fun times in carpool and our many lunch dates!
The cake and cupcakes were all lemon and covered with buttercream and fondant decortions. Tracym sent me a pic of the super cute invitation and I came up with this design to go along with the theme. I love how the little clothesline turned out! I used scrapbook paper to make the cupcake sleeves and also to cover straws that were used to hold up the clothesline.

Elephant Cupcakes and Monogram Cookies
I love gray and yellow (my new favorite color combo) so I was super excited to make these cupcakes and cookies for a baby shower. The cupcakes were chocolate and I made the little elephants out of fondant and royal icing. The cookies were pumpkin spice cookies and had the baby's monogram on them. Here they are...

Onesie Cake
I loved making this sweet, girly onesie cake! It was for a recent baby shower. My friend Dianna, asked me to make it for her cousin's shower. I loved making the puffed sleeves and I hope I get a chance to make another sometime soon!

Shhhh Baby Sleeping!
My friend, Steph, recently helped to throw a baby shower for her sister and here is the cake I made for it! I really enjoy using gumpaste now to make my figurines, flowers, etc. I used to use fondant for everything but this is soooo much easier to work with. Anywho, I made the baby out of gumpaste as well as the wording that I stuck up with toothpicks. Cake is white almond and everything else is covered in fondant. Check out the pretty wood it's sitting on - that is our new island in our kitchen! We have been renovating our kitchen for a little over a year now and it is almost time for a big reveal. I think I am going to need ANOTHER blog for that! And on a more personal note....Dave and I are expecting a little baby of our own! Here is is a baby bump pic of my at 15 weeks. I am due December 2nd :)

A Boy or Girl?
This past weekend, one of my good friends from college, Emily, had a baby shower. Her shower was so much fun ... it was like a little mini reuion with my 2004 Meredith Angels! My college rooomie, Dianna, and another friend from college, Sarah, threw the shower for Emily and asked me to make a cake. This cake was super duper special because it revealed the sex of Em's little one. I must admit, I felt special that I was able to find out what she was having before everyone else. The shower had a book theme and everyone was asked to bring their favorite book from growing up as a gift. Dianna and Sarah asked me to make a book cake with the "What to Expect When you are Expecting" title. Here are a few pics from the shower and the cake...

I thought this present was adorable! Paige made it out of diapers and stuck several mini Dr. Suess books in it. I love the Cat and the Hat on the top. |

Cutie Patootie Baby Shower cake

Last Saturday Dave and I also had 2 little visitors for the morning. Kinsey and her little brother came over to our house and we had so much fun decorating and baking cookies. Kinsey helped me make my favorite cookies - peanut butter kiss cookies.
